01

Read the passage first

Look for speakers, names, repeated words and the action of the sentence. A provisional understanding gives you better questions when you turn to the dictionary.

02

Investigate a form

A word’s dictionary headword and its form in the text are different pieces of information. Use dictionary and morphology support together, then decide which meaning fits the passage. Check difficult readings against context and a grammar.

03

Listen and reread

For texts with recordings, follow the original while listening. Compare an available translation after making your own attempt. Return to the Greek and see which parts you can now understand directly.

A library beside your reading desk

The public AKRO Archive contains texts, grammars and scholarship that can support close reading. The mobile app adds lessons and practice alongside the reader. Text coverage, recordings, translations and commentary vary by work.

Does every text include audio and a translation?

No. Reading aids depend on the work and the material currently available. Check the selected title rather than assuming that every item has the same support.

Can I use the reader as a beginner?

Start with a guided lesson or a short manageable text. Reading tools help you investigate language, but a foundation in vocabulary and grammar remains useful.
